New York Wholesale Group of Hicksville, NY, has initiated a recall of four Zaarah Herbals products—Rasayan Churan, Gurmar Powder, Vasaka Powder, and Bhringraj Powder-due to potential contamination with elevated levels of lead and arsenic. These products, packaged in clear 100-gram jars with gold lids, were distributed to retailers in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and California between December 20, 2024, and January 7, 2025. The contamination was identified following an investigation by the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection and the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station, which detected significantly elevated levels of these heavy metals. No illnesses have been reported to date. Consumers are advised to discontinue use immediately and return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund. For further information, contact New York Wholesale Group at 516-289-9677, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Eastern Time.
