On March 14, 2025, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning to consumers regarding the dangers of inhaling nitrous oxide products, commonly known as "laughing gas." While nitrous oxide is approved for legitimate medical, industrial, and culinary applications, its recreational inhalation can lead to serious health issues, including death. The FDA has observed an increase in adverse event reports associated with such misuse. Products of concern are sold under various brand names, including Baking Bad, Cosmic Gas, Galaxy Gas, HOTWHIP, InfusionMax, MassGass, Miami Magic, and Whip-it!, and are available online and at retailers such as Amazon.com, eBay, Walmart, smoke/vape shops, and gas stations. Consumers are advised not to misuse or inhale nitrous oxide products and to seek medical attention if they experience any adverse effects
