China Customs published a May 2025 report listing imported food products denied entry due to safety or compliance issues. Over 200 batches were rejected, with reasons including microbial contamination, unapproved additives, expired shelf life, and improper labeling. Products came from countries such as Japan, Germany, and Vietnam. Examples include Vietnamese instant noodles, Japanese matcha biscuits, German whey protein powder, and Malaysian coffee drinks. Affected items were returned or destroyed per China’s food safety laws.
