On 11 February 2026, the World Trade Organisation (WTO) circulated an addendum at the request of Tanzania's delegation.The addendum informs WTO Members that the Draft Tanzania Standard TDC 11 CD2 (1947) – Leather – Lining - Specification, First edition, previously notified, has been officially adopted on 31 October 2025 as the national standard TZS 4070:2025 – Leather – Lining - Specification, First edition.
This standard specifies technical requirements for leather lining materials, including quality, physical properties, chemical characteristics, and testing methods, to ensure consistency and suitability for use in footwear and leather goods manufacturing in Tanzania.
The adoption completes the transition from draft to mandatory national standard, promoting product quality, consumer safety, and harmonisation within the Tanzanian market.
