On July 23, 2025, WTO circulates notification from Saudi Arabia concerning a Draft Technical Regulation on Personal Protective Clothing and Equipment, aimed at enhancing public safety, health, and environmental protection. The regulation prohibits the circulation of non-compliant products and establishes specific standards as approved technical references. Compliance with these listed specifications serves as evidence of meeting the basic regulatory requirements. Stakeholders are invited to submit comments within 30 days from the date of notification (i.e. on August 22, 2025).

EN 469 – Protective clothing for firefighters
EN 659 – Protective gloves for firefighters
EN 207 – Personal eye-protection against laser radiation
ISO 11612 – Clothing to protect against heat and flame
SASO-ISO 13982-1 – Protective clothing against airborne solid particulates (Type 5)
SASO-ISO 13998 – Protective aprons
EN 13034 – Protective clothing against limited liquid chemical exposure (Type 6 and Type PB [6])
