On 10 February 2026, the World Trade Organisation (WTO) circulated TBT notification on behalf of the notifying member, China (State Administration for Market Regulation) through the Standardisation Administration of the People’s Republic of China.
Products Covered: Inorganic chemicals, organic compounds, pharmaceuticals, fertilisers, dyes, essential oils and fragrances, soap, explosives, and miscellaneous chemical products (HS Chapters 28–38; ICS 03.220.20).
Draft National Standard of the P.R.C. - Regulations concerning road transport of dangerous goods - Part 2: Classification.
The draft standard sets out the detailed classification system for dangerous goods intended for road transport. It establishes general classification principles and specific provisions for determining the appropriate hazard class/division, packing group, and UN number for each substance or article. The standard applies to the identification and categorisation of all dangerous goods transported by road in China.
Objective is Protection of human health or safety; protection of animal or plant life or health; and protection of the environment.
Final date for comments: 11 April 2026 (60 days from notification).
