Thailand's Ministry of Industry updates the official List of Hazardous Substances under the authority of the Hazardous Substances Act B.E. 2535. It cancels and replaces previous listings from the 2013 notification (B.E. 2556), particularly those related to the Department of Agriculture, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Department of Industrial Works. Notable removals include plant extracts like citronella oil and neem. The revised list includes new substances such as dicofol, pentachlorobenzene, and hexachlorobutadiene under the Department of Agriculture’s purview, and household-use chemicals like hydrogen peroxide and chlorine compounds under the FDA.

The announcement also adds various cyanide compounds including gold cyanide, copper cyanide, and ethyl cyanide under the Department of Industrial Works' oversight.

Operators handling Type 3 hazardous substances must apply for permission within 30 days of the regulation’s effective date, while those dealing with Type 4 substances must comply with official orders within 180 days. The regulation took effect the day after its publication in the Royal Gazette on June 4, 2021.
