The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued Advisory No. 2026-0359, warning healthcare professionals and the public not to purchase or consume the unregistered food supplement “GRETESS BEAUTY CARE THAIFEM Food Supplement Capsule Powered by Thailand Estradiol, Horsetail Extract, Pine Bark Extract, Pea Plant Extract, Soja Bean Extract, and Progesterone.”

According to the FDA, post-marketing surveillance and online monitoring revealed that the product is not registered with the agency and does not have a valid Certificate of Product Registration (CPR). Because the product has not undergone the FDA’s regulatory evaluation process, the agency cannot guarantee its safety, quality, or compliance with Philippine regulatory standards.

Under Republic Act No. 9711, the manufacture, importation, exportation, distribution, sale, advertising, or promotion of health products without proper authorization is strictly prohibited. The FDA emphasized that establishments found distributing, promoting, or selling the product may face regulatory actions and sanctions.

The agency has instructed relevant authorities and local jurisdictions to ensure that the product is not made available in the market. In addition, the Bureau of Customs has been requested to prevent the importation or exportation of the product, along with other unregistered food products.

The FDA noted that the market authorization holder may request the lifting of the advisory by submitting a formal petition along with a valid CPR, photographic evidence of the compliant product in its final commercial packaging, and a copy of the advisory for verification.

Consumers and stakeholders are encouraged to verify the registration status of food products through the FDA Verification Portal and report any sale or distribution of unregistered food supplements to the agency.
