On June 12, 2025, ANMAT issued a new provision updating the regulatory framework for the advertising of over-the-counter health-related products. It applies to a wide range of products, including non-prescription medicines, dietary supplements, cosmetics, hygiene products, and in vitro self-diagnostic devices. The regulation defines permitted advertising practices across traditional and digital media, mandates the inclusion of specific health disclaimers, and prohibits misleading or unverified claims. It also sets guidelines to ensure that advertising supports public health, is truthful, and avoids encouraging self-medication. The new provision repeals previous ANMAT regulations and takes effect the day after its official publication.
