A decision tree outlining the process for determining the recyclability of materials using the recyclability assessment methodology (RAM), which is part of the extended producer responsibility (EPR) for packaging has been published by Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra). This diagram complements the guidance document. It outlines the steps for determining whether a piece of packaging should be classified as red, amber, or green under the RAM and can serve as a foundation for creating own process diagrams. It provides an overview that explains who should access, how to assess packaging waste and how to report it.
